aftercare

Understanding your aftercare will help your healing to go smoothly. You will receive a hard copy after your appointment along with your soap, balm, and other aftercare necessities.

immediately after

Blot any noticeable lymph/plasma fluid that may bead up on the surface gently with a clean cotton round or kleenex.

washing the night of or morning after

Working with clean hands, wash the eyebrows with neutral, fragrance free, hypoallergenic soap and water. Gently glide your fingertips over the brows to wash off all the lymph and previously applied balm. Do not scrub. After cleansing the brows, pat dry, and apply a very thin layer of balm. Repeat the cleansing process once a day through the healing process.

first 7-14 days

It's important to maintain facial hygiene and keep the area dry.
Do not let the brow area get wet other than when you are cleansing them!
Shield your face when showering and washing your hair. Wash your face outside of the shower so you can cleanse carefully around your brows. Keep long hot steamy showers to a minimum and gently blot dry if you get them wet while showering.
Avoid sweating, active products on the forehead, makeup in the brow, & sun direct exposure.
Sweat has salts and bacteria that are harmful, so try to avoid sweating.
Omit retinol-like products on the forehead area for two weeks,
when resuming only apply around the brow not in the brow.
You may apply makeup around the brow, but not in the brow during healing.
Wear a physical barrier like a hat if you need sun protection.
Apply a thin layer of balm as needed if skin feels dry, tight or itchy.
If your brows do not feel dry, omit the balm for the day;
This is called ‘dry healing’ and is recommended for oily skin.
Do not pick, scratch, or remove any flakes/scabbing.
Try to avoid touching the brows unless you're cleansing them with clean hands.
Let the process slough off naturally in it’s own time.
Complete healing could take 7-10 days or 10-14 if you heal slowly.
Once fully healed you can wash them regularly, get them wet again,
wear makeup in them and start apply SPF daily.

long term care

Near the brow area: avoid laser treatments, sunbathing, chemical peels, microneedling, and cleansers/creams that contain regeneration factors or intense ingredients.
Always protect the brows from the sun.
Use SPF daily or swipe your favorite daytime moisturizer with SPF through your healed brows. Sun exposure and intense active skincare will cause the pigment to fade more quickly.

If increase in redness, swelling, irritation or infection occurs consult a physician immediately.
After notifying your physician first, please follow up with your practitioner at Brow Almighty.
